Mobile Unit Of Tomography
Aiming to bring the latest technology in tomography scans to distant locations and offer an additional resource to clinics and hospitals, the first Tomography Mobile Unit produced in Brazil was launched at the 2015 Hospitalar Fair, the largest specialized health event in Latin America , which took place between May 19 and 22 at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo. Equipped with the latest generation of tomographs manufactured in Brazil that can be applied in the areas of oncology, angiography and orthopedics, among others, the truck was developed by Truckvan, the Brazilian leader in the wheel solutions market, and will function as a traveling exam room.
“The partnership between Truckvan and Siemens will combine mobility and technology into a pioneering tomography project that will meet the needs of thousands of people,” said Alcides Braga, managing partner of Truckvan.”
According to Armando Lopes, head of Siemens Healthcare in Brazil, the CT scanner Mobile will also serve the hospitals that are already equipped to tomography “thereby increasing their ability to care for complex tests, and reducing queues of patients waiting.”
Using the Expert-i technology, which allows for the remote operation of the CT scanner during the examination, the radiologist can view the patient’s acquired images from anywhere using a computer connected to the Internet, while a technician performs face-to-face Mobile Tomography Unit. This technology minimizes the difficulties to carry out complex examinations caused by the lack of specialized professionals in regions of the interior of the Country.
